DACA Immigrants Win Access to Obamacare Subsidies From HHS (1)

Undocumented immigrants who arrived in the US as children will be able to receive subsidized Obamacare coverage under a rule the Biden administration released Friday.

The final rule (RIN 0938-AV23) from the Department of Health and Human Services modifies the definition of who is considered “lawfully present” and eligible to purchase a qualified health plan through the federal and state marketplaces.

Individuals eligible under the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program will no longer be excluded from that definition, making it possible for them to receive premium tax credits and cost-sharing reductions available under qualified health plans starting ...
