CVS Health Sued by Insurers Over Generic Drug Pricing Scheme (1)

CVS Health Corp. owes seven health insurers millions of dollars it allegedly overcharged them for generic prescription drugs sold to their members, a complaint filed in federal court said.

This is one of several lawsuits filed against pharmacies such as CVS, Rite Aid, and Walgreens alleging they defrauded insurers, pharmacy benefits managers, and customers by failing to use the prices offered under preferred customer or cash discount programs when reporting charges to third-party payers.
