Employers are likely to cover Covid-19 tests on a more limited basis or with cost-sharing requirements now that the public health emergency has ended.
With the end of the emergency, private health plans are no longer required to cover the full cost of Covid-19 tests ordered by clinicians, or reimburse consumers for at-home tests. That’s one of the biggest changes in coverage requirements for employer plans, say people who work with large employers.
