Colorado Obamacare Sign-Ups Climb as HealthCare.gov Sinks

Enrollment in Colorado’s state-run health insurance marketplace is up 6 percent over last year.

Meanwhile, sign-ups through the federal website, HealthCare.gov, which runs insurance exchanges in 39 states, are down 11 percent.

The contrast, sources say, is partly due to the fact that the state runs its own exchange and is beyond the reach of Trump administration moves to shorten federally run exchanges’ enrollment periods and cut their advertising budgets.
