CMS Set to Release Extra Open Payments Records by End of December, Official Says

The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services will release additional Open Payments data by the end of December, a CMS official said during a conference Nov. 4.

The December release will comprise 9,000 payment records that weren’t part of the initial Sept. 30 public release because they were under dispute, Douglas Brown, acting director of the CMS’s data sharing and partnership group, said during the Pharmaceutical Compliance Congress and Best Practices Forum.

The 9,000 payment records had been disputed by physicians or teaching hospitals as of Sept. 11, Brown said.
