The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services April 26 released a fraud alert to all Medicare Part D sponsors regarding a Florida-based pharmacy suspected of billing Medicare for medications that were not medically necessary and were not provided to beneficiaries.
The alert said the owner of Bonanza Pharmacy Discount, based in Hialeah, Fla., was indicted April 16 for alledgedly fraudulently billing Medicare Part D from February 2012 to February 2013.
