CMS Introduces Mobile Apps to Aid Physicians, Industry in Sunshine Reporting

The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services July 17 released two free mobile device applications that will help physicians and industry users track payments and other financial transfers that need to be reported under the OPEN PAYMENTS program (also known as the Physician Payments Sunshine Act).

CMS created one app for industry and one for physicians. The apps are designed to facilitate transparency and reduce the annual reporting burden by making it easier for users to track payments.
