Sen. John Cornyn is delaying quick confirmation of President Joe Biden’s pick to oversee Medicare and Medicaid, according to the senator’s spokesperson.

Cornyn (R-Texas) placed a hold on the nomination of Chiquita Brooks-LaSure to be administrator of the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services in response to the Biden administration’s decision to revoke the 10-year extension of Texas’s Medicaid waiver, approved at the end of the Trump administration.
