A participant in a $70 million fraud scheme using New York City clinics as Medicare and Medicaid billing mills was sentenced to 34 months in prison (United States v. Lipkin, S.D.N.Y., 1:14-cr-00773, 7/6/17).
The defendant, Giorgi Buleishvili, was also ordered to pay into a total of $13.8 million in restitution, at sentencing July 6 before Judge Ronnie Abrams of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York.
