Citizen-Enforced Abortion Laws Toppled in Oklahoma (Correct)

Two extreme abortion bans in Oklahoma were struck down Wednesday when the state supreme court found that they violate the Oklahoma Constitution.

The laws couldn’t survive in light of the top court’s March decision in Oklahoma Call for Reproductive Justice v. Drummond, holding that the state’s constitution protects a pregnant person’s right to terminate a pregnancy when necessary to save her life, the Oklahoma Supreme Court said in a brief unsigned order.

The decision is a victory for reproductive rights advocates, which have filed multiple lawsuits contending that state constitutions protect against restrictions on access to abortion.
