Chicago Hospital Defeats Former Patient’s Emergency Law Claim

A former mental patient can’t revive his suit against a Chicago hospital for allegedly violating federal law by discharging him before stabilizing an emergency medical condition, an appeals court said Tuesday.

Jeffrey Ferguson filed his lawsuit against Mount Sinai Medical Center too late, the US Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit said in an affirming the suit’s dismissal.
