Caremark Sued for Allegedly Blocking Online Drug Exchange Sales

An online prescription drug exchange sued Caremark LLC over allegations that the pharmacy benefit manager implemented policies that unlawfully prevented pharmacies from purchasing inventory through their drug matching service.

In a complaint filed Monday in the US District Court for the District of New Jersey, Rxeed, an Illinois company that operates an online marketplace where pharmacies can buy and sell prescription drugs with one another, accused the PBM of violating the Drug Supply Chain Security Act and engaging in unlawful anti-competitive practices that financially jeopardized the exchange and the pharmacies who relied on their service.
