A California law that limits protests at vaccine administration sites violates First Amendment free speech rights.
But the US District Court for the Northern District of California severed an offending provision that precludes “harassing” people with a vaccine-site buffer zone. This means the state can enforce the rest of the buffer zone law.
The law defines a vaccination site as a “physical location where vaccination services are provided, including, but not limited to, a hospital, physician’s office, clinic, or any retail space or pop-up location made available for vaccination services.”
