California’s Omni Family Health Hit With Data Breach Lawsuit

California health-care provider Omni Family Health put former and current patients at risk of identity theft and fraud by failing to protect their personal information from hackers, a proposed class action alleges.

An August 7 data breach allowed hackers to steal thousands of individuals’ personally identifiable information, including names, birth dates, home addresses, phone numbers, protected health information, and Social Security numbers, according to a complaint filed Wednesday in the Eastern District of California.
