Ossur Americas Inc., a Orange County, Calif.-based prosthetics supplier has paid the United States $500,000 to resolve allegations that it supplied the U.S. Army with hundreds of foreign-made prosthetic, bracing and support products while falsely certifying that the products were manufactured in the U.S., as required by federal law and its contracts with the Army, the U.S. Attorney for the Central District of California, in Los Angeles, announced in a March 26 press release.
