California Doctor Accused of Trafficking Abortion Pills in Texas

A Texas man has added an abortion-pill trafficking claim to a suit accusing a California doctor of sending abortion-inducing pills to the state so his purported girlfriend could end her pregnancy.

Jerry Rodriguez sued Rémy Coeytaux in the US District Court for the Southern District of Texas in July 2025, alleging the doctor was responsible for the wrongful death of Rodriguez’s child. He filed an amended complaint Sunday, seeking an injunction against Coeytaux under a new law that allows individuals to block anyone from sending abortion pills into the state.
