A California couple whose fertilized embryo was mistakenly implanted in and carried to term by a New York woman are suing the in vitro fertilization center they say is responsible for the mix-up.
CHA Health Systems Inc., which operates the CHA Fertility Center Los Angeles, breached its contract with Anni and Ashot Manukyan when it transferred one of their embryos to another couple, then compounded the error by trying to cover it up, the Manukyans told the California Superior Court, Los Angeles County, July 10.
