California Budget Plan With Tax Changes Goes to Governor Newsom

California lawmakers on Friday enacted more pieces of a $321 billion budget plan that includes one bill with tax policy changes Gov. Gavin Newsom (D) and lawmakers agreed to make for the fiscal year that starts July 1.

The 17-bill package passed in the Senate and Assembly incorporates and adjusts the main budget bill lawmakers sent to Newsom on June 12 (S.B. 101), creating a plan with $228 billion in general fund spending and the rest from special funds and bonds.
