Braidwood Management Renews Legal Fight on Contraceptive Mandate

A health center renewed its challenge of the Affordable Care Act’s preventive services coverage mandate on Wednesday, suing the Trump administration over the law’s provision requiring most health plans to cover contraceptives.

Braidwood Management Inc. and four individuals filed a proposed class action in the US District Court for the Northern District of Texas, saying the mandate violates their religious beliefs that life begins at conception. The plaintiffs “regard the use of abortifacient contraception as morally equivalent to abortion,” according to the complaint.
