Biden EPA Urged to End Decades of Delay and Ban Vinyl Chloride

The Environmental Protection Agency was urged Thursday to end decades of inaction on banning vinyl chloride, as environmental advocates sought to build momentum from a chemical fire following a February train derailment in East Palestine, Ohio.

Groups including Beyond Plastics, the Hip Hop Caucus, and Moms Clean Air Force brought a petition with nearly 28,000 signatures to EPA headquarters urging action before an afternoon meeting with EPA Assistant Administrator for the Office of Chemical Safety and Pollution Prevention Michal Freedhoff.
