The Biden administration is planning to rescind a Trump-era health-care rule that a federal judge previously called an attempt around the Affordable Care Act.
Announced Tuesday by the Department of Labor, the proposed rule (RIN: 1210-AC16) would fully rescind a 2018 Trump administration rule governing health plans that allow businesses and individuals to come together to create group health plans. Such association health plans—or AHPs—could serve as vehicles for cheaper coverage than that under the Affordable Care Act, though they lacked some of its protections.
