Solar power development potential on federal land will expand in five new states, an extension from land only in the Southwest, under a final plan the Biden administration approved Friday.
The plan was published in August but was given final approval this week.
The plan is the first update to the 2012 Western Solar Plan, a road map for solar development on federal land in Arizona, California, Colorado, Nevada, New Mexico, and Utah. The revision adds Idaho, Montana, Oregon, Washington, and Wyoming to the Western Solar Plan.
