House appropriators advanced two more fiscal 2027 spending bills on Wednesday, heading into the Memorial Day recess with more than half of their funding measures ready for floor action.
Lawmakers clashed over deep cuts to the Government Accountability Office in the Legislative Branch bill and eliminations of renewable energy standards in the Energy and Water measure. Both bills would restrict trade with China, including purchases of Chinese technology and sales of US strategic oil reserves.
