BGOV Bill Summary: H.R. 5894, FY24 Labor-HHS-Education Funds

The Labor, Health and Human Services, and Education departments, along with related agencies, would receive $147.1 billion in discretionary funds in fiscal 2024 under a modified version of H.R. 5894, a 29% decrease from the previous year.

The measure would reduce by discretionary spending by $60.3 billion compared to fiscal 2023, according to the explanatory materials from the House Appropriations Committee. The report said the overall programmatic funding level in the bill would be $196 billion, including offsets and adjustments.
