Baxter Concealed Problems With Risky IV Pumps, Investors Say

Executives at healthcare company Baxter International Inc. misled investors about a medical device by “concealing systemic issues that put patients at the risk of severe injury and death,” according to an investor suit.

The Novum IQ Large Volume Pump, which is meant for delivery of IV fluids, was portrayed as safe when it actually posed significant risks, the complaint states.

A Baxter shareholder filed the suit Wednesday in the US District Court for the Northern District of Illinois.
