BAT to Challenge FDA’s Move Against Its Vuse Vapes (Correct)

British American Tobacco Plc expressed disappointment after the Food and Drug Administration said it was prohibiting the marketing and distribution of some of its Vuse vape products and pledged to challenge the move.

The FDA’s decision, announced Thursday, applies to Vuse Alto’s Menthol and Mixed Berry products, which are sold by BAT’s subsidiary, RJ Reynolds Vapor Company. Each flavor has three different nicotine strengths available. The products can’t be marketed or distributed in the US without risking FDA enforcement action, according to a statement. The company can submit new applications for permission to sell the products.
