An Atlanta doctor was sentenced in federal court Feb. 20 to a prison term of 50 months and fines of $3.5 million for health-care fraud, tax fraud and money laundering convictions, the U.S. Department of Justice announced (United States v. Eppelbaum).
Lawrence Eppelbaum was sentenced in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Georgia, following his conviction on 27 counts in a jury trial in June 2013. U.S. District Judge Amy Totenberg issued the sentence.
