The fate of three Arkansas abortion laws won’t be decided until after the U.S. Supreme Court decides a case contesting a Louisiana law, which requires providers to obtain admitting privileges at local hospitals, a federal appeals court said.
The U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit is holding in abeyance a case testing the constitutionality of laws that criminalize most abortions performed after 14 weeks, require providers to obtain medical records before abortions to ensure a procedure isn’t requested for sex-selection purposes, and mandate procedures for disposing of fetal tissue, it said Thursday.
