Arizona can ban abortions sought because a fetus has been diagnosed with a genetic anomaly, after a federal judge held an early challenge to it was premature.
The US District Court for the District of Arizona rejected calls to block the ban Thursday. The court said the challengers, which include Arizona Medical Association, the Arizona National Organization For Women, the National Council of Jewish Women (Arizona Section) Inc., and physicians Paul Isaacson and Eric Reuss, have little chance of succeeding on a pre-enforcement vagueness claim.
