The campaign behind an abortion rights ballot petition in Arizona secured a win Friday with a judge’s decision ordering a state legislative panel to remove the term “unborn human being” from its summary of the proposal.
Judge Christopher Whitten of the Arizona Superior Court, Maricopa County, determined that the language the Arizona Legislative Council approved to be placed in voter pamphlets didn’t meet the state’s requirement for the board to adopt “an impartial analysis of the provisions of each ballot proposal.”
