Anti-Abortion Center Shut Out of Speech, Religious Bias Suit

A Massachusetts anti-abortion pregnancy center failed to advance constitutional claims against state officials after a federal judge said it didn’t show they engaged in or threatened enforcement action intended to stifle its speech or religious views.

A public education campaign conducted by Gov. Maura Healey (D), the state’s public health commission, and Reproductive Equity Now Foundation Inc. criticizing crisis pregnancy centers and reminding all health-care entities about regulatory requirements didn’t amount to unconstitutional threats intended to suppress A Woman’s Concern Inc.'s constitutionally protected rights, the US District Court for the District of Massachusetts said Tuesday.
