Anthem Hit With Third Class Action on Alleged ‘Ghost Networks’

The parents of an autistic toddler filed a proposed class action against Anthem Health Plans, Inc. in Connecticut state court, alleging the insurer violated state and federal law in failing to maintain an accurate provider directory.

The seven-count complaint accuses Anthem, its mental health provider Carelon Behavioral Health, Inc., and parent company Elevance Health Companies Inc., of fraudulent and negligent misrepresentation after the couple failed to find local in-network therapy for Michelle and Guy Mazzola’s son.
