AmerisourceBergen Must Supply Opioids to Alaska Pharmacy

AmerisourceBergen, the Pennsylvania-based drug wholesaler and manufacturer, must keep opioids flowing to an Alaska pharmacy that allegedly is dispensing a high number of controlled substance prescriptions, sometimes in dangerous combinations, according to court filings.

Bernie’s Pharmacy in Anchorage, Alaska, won an order from the U.S. District Court for the District of Alaska Aug. 24 that said Amerisource must continue supplying controlled substances and listed chemicals. The drug supplier had sought to cut off supplies, and the pharmacy sued, alleging violations of the parties’ vendor agreement.
