Alcon to Pay J&J $199M as Part of Eye Surgery Device Settlement

Alcon Inc has entered into a settlement agreement with J&J Surgical Vision to resolve their pending legal proceedings relating to femtosecond laser assisted cataract surgery devices, according to company announcement.

• Alcon and J&J Surgical Vision exchanged cross-licenses of certain intellectual property
• Alcon will make a one-time payment of $199m to J&J Surgical Vision
