Alabama Top Court Refuses to Disturb Embryo Personhood Ruling

A recent Alabama Supreme Court decision that threatened to make in vitro fertilization inaccessible in the state will stand, following the justices’ May 3 refusal to rehear the case.

The Alabama Supreme Court gave no reason for its decision, which was announced by Justice Jay Mitchell, who authored the February majority opinion. Chief Justice Tom Parker and Justices Greg Shaw, Kelli Wise, Tommy Bryan, Brady E. Mendheim Jr., and Sarah H. Stewart joined.
