An Alabama hospital got a $100,000 judgment against it overturned becausethere was no evidence it breached the standard of care when it supplied a physician with a guidewire that broke during surgery, the state’s top court said Friday.
Patient Cameron Murphy didn’t prove that Jackson Hospital & Clinic Inc. had a duty to examine the guidewire or failed to do anything required of similarly situated health-care providers when providing medical equipment, the Alabama Supreme Court said.
