Air Canada Suspends Flights to JFK Over Rising Fuel Costs (1)

Air Canada will suspend daily flights to John F. Kennedy International Airport in New York City amid soaring jet fuel costs.

“Jet fuel prices have doubled since the start of the Iran conflict and some lower-profitability routes and flights are no longer economic, and we are making schedule adjustments accordingly,” the company said in an emailed statement.

Canada’s largest airline will halt its four daily flights to JFK from Toronto and Montreal beginning June 1, and plans to resume them on Oct. 25. Alternate options will be offered to affected customers. The carrier said it will continue operating its 34 ...
