Aetna Infertility Coverage Settlement Gets Preliminary Approval

Aetna Life Insurance Co.'s health plans will use a new definition of “fertility” to ensure there’s no difference in fertility care coverage for LGBTQ+ and cisgender members, according to a class action settlement.

It will also pay damages to LGBTQ+ members who incurred out-of-pocket costs to prove infertility under old policies, the settlement adds.
