Abortion Reason Ban Properly Struck Down, Providers Tell SCOTUS

An Arkansas law restricting abortions when a woman’s reason for the procedure is a prenatal diagnosis of Down syndrome is unconstitutional under present law and was properly struck down, abortion providers told the U.S. Supreme Court.

Little Rock Family Planning Services and others urged the nation’s top court to deny review of a decision by the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit that found the law invalid because it affects abortions performed before a fetus would be able to live outside the womb.
