Abortion Drug Approval Review Timely, Doctors Tell Supreme Court

Physicians pushing for a ban on the abortion drug mifepristone are telling the US Supreme Court that the time is ripe for reviewing Food and Drug Administration approval of the medication despite the Biden administration and a drugmaker’s insistence otherwise.

The Alliance for Hippocratic Medicine and others made their arguments in a brief advancing their effort to broaden restrictions the US Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit placed on mifepristone. The Biden administration and Danco Laboratories, maker of the name-brand mifepristone Mifeprex, appealed the Fifth Circuit’s decision and want the restrictions lifted.
