Abortion Clinic’s False Ad Suit to Proceed Against Health Center

A Massachusetts reproductive health-care clinic got the greenlight to move forward with a federal false advertising claim against a neighboring anti-abortion center that allegedly diverted potential patients by deceiving them about its services.

Four Women Health Services LLC sufficiently pleaded that Abundant Hope Pregnancy Resource Center Inc. is a competitor and engaged in materially misleading commercial speech designed to deceive women into believing it offers the same reproductive health service as Four Women, the US District Court for the District of Massachusetts said Thursday.
