Abbott, AbbVie Beat Appeal in Lupron Bone, Joint Injury Suit

Abbott Laboratories Inc. and AbbVie Inc. fended off a Georgia woman’s appeal in a lawsuit alleging the synthetic hormone Lupron caused severe bone and joint pain, as the Seventh Circuit affirmed she filed her suit too late.

Terry Paulsen’s doctor prescribed Lupron to treat endometriosis, and she received injections of the drug in February and March 2004.

She first sued April 20, 2010, but voluntarily dismissed her claims in May 2014. About a year later, she moved to reopen the case, but the district court denied her request.
