AARP Details Medicare Advantage, Part D Changes

AARP has released two fact sheets on changes to the Medicare Advantage and Medicare prescription drug benefit programs brought about by passage of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (Pub. L. No. 111-148).

The MA fact sheet details that adjustments in Medicare payments to managed care plans will be based on local health care spending and plan quality. The prescription drug benefit fact sheet explains how the reform bill will close the personal coverage gap in the drug benefit—known as the “doughnut hole.”
