Shutdown Could End Today After House Votes
The end of the longest government shutdown in US history is finally in sight.
The House is slated to return to Washington this afternoon for the first time in nearly two months to vote on the Senate’s bipartisan deal to reopen the government.
The IRS and many other agencies would get renewed funding through Jan. 30, while some departments and Congress itself would have enough money to operate for the rest of the fiscal year.
