Winn Companies Defeats Whistleblower’s Housing Fraud Lawsuit

A whistleblower’s complaint alleging that Winn Companies and Atlantic Terrace Limited Partnership violated the False Claims Act by misrepresenting the living conditions of a Washington, DC, apartment complex to the federal government must be dismissed as untimely.

Monica McLamore, a resident of the complex, alleged that the defendants concealed defects such as mold and insects to the US Department of Housing and Urban Development in order to receive Section 8 subsidy payments.
