West Virginia-based counseling services provider Renovo Center LLC and its owner defeated the US government’s suit alleging they defrauded Medicaid.
The government’s False Claims Act suit failed because it didn’t show Renovo knew or believed it submitted false claims to Medicaid, Judge Gina M. Groh of the US District Court for the Northern District of West Virginia said in a Wednesday opinion granting the defendants summary judgment. The government also failed show Renovo’s alleged misconduct was material to government payment decisions, the opinion said.
