Wells Fargo’s High Court Petition Delayed by Virus, Mediation

Wells Fargo & Co. and false claims whistleblowers alleging it misrepresented its financial condition to get emergency bailout loans in the 2008 financial crisis will be able to keep trying to resolve their differences in mediation until April 20—the new deadline for the bank to file a U.S. Supreme Court petition.

The deadline was April 3 from the Supreme Court’s decision to grant a filing extension. Because of public health concerns relating to Covid-19, the Supreme Court issued an order March 19 extending petition deadlines to 150 days from the date of the lower court judgment.
