US Looks to Ensure Long-Term Supply of RTX Drone Interceptors

The US Army is planning to sign a long-term agreement with RTX Corp. to ensure a steady supply of Coyote drone interceptors, a Pentagon official said, with wars in Ukraine and Iran emphasizing the need for cheap ways to down incoming threats.

The Army intends to request funding in fiscal 2027 to pursue both a framework agreement and a multi-year contract, Lieutenant General Frank Lozano, who is in charge of buying and fielding the service’s missiles and munitions, said in an interview.
