US Government Watchdog Upholds $549.1 Million Army Contract

The US Government Accountability Office shot down a military contractor’s disagreement with a US Army contract that was awarded to a competitor for over half a billion dollars.

The government watchdog in a decision released Thursday said it declined to look into Alaskan facilities maintenance provider T&H Services LLC’s dispute claiming the Army improperly awarded a $549.1 million contract to Akima Facilities Operations LLC, another government contractor based in Virginia. Akima can proceed with the contract and furnish heating, ventilation, and other services to tenants and organizations at an Army base in Alabama, the GAO said.
