US Backs New Look at Iraq Terror Support Suit Against Drugmakers

The federal government wants the US Supreme Court to order an appeals court to reconsider whether victims of terror attacks in Iraq can move forward with their Anti-Terrorism Act suit against drugmakers.

The Supreme Court should side with the pharmaceutical companies challenging the US Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit’s ATA ruling, vacate the decision allowing the case to proceed, and remand the case to the appeals court, the US solicitor general said in an amicus brief filed Tuesday.
